A spread-and-commission figure prices exactly one event: opening and closing a single deal. Inside that boundary the arithmetic is short. The spread-only Standard account carries about 1.2 pips on EUR/USD and charges no commission, while the Raw+ account shows raw spreads from 0.0 pips and charges $3.50 per lot per side, $7.00 round turn, so which of the two is cheaper depends on the instrument and on how much volume passes through it. What the figure does not reach is everything billed to the account rather than to a deal: adjustments that may be applied to open positions on instruments that pay them, whatever a bank or provider takes when money moves in or out, an inactivity fee after six months of no activity, and the separate overnight line covered on our swap rates page. Spreads are variable, so confirm the live figures in your platform - and read the tables below as the price of trading rather than as the whole of what an account can cost.

Real measured Raw+ spreads and cost

The median spread, all-in cost and how the spread compares with an independent interbank reference feed, measured on FxPro’s own MT5 Raw+ feed — first-hand, not advertised:

InstrumentMedian spreadAll-in / lotAll-in (pips)vs reference
EUR/USD0.2 pips$9.000.9 pips−0.1 pips
GBP/USD0.6 pips$13.001.3 pips0 pips
AUD/USD0.4 pips$11.001.1 pips−0.5 pips
USD/CAD0.4 pips$9.881.37 pips−0.7 pips
USD/JPY0.3 pips$8.881.41 pips0 pips
XAU/USD (Gold)15 pips$22.0022 pips−43.9 pips

‘All-in (pips)’ is also your break-even — the move needed to cover spread plus commission. ‘vs reference’ compares our measured spread with an independent interbank reference feed over the same hours; a negative number means FxPro’s spread was tighter. The round-turn cost is about $78 per $1,000,000 traded on EUR/USD. This page is the Standard-vs-Raw+ cost overview; for the live, hour-by-hour measured spread feed see our live spreads page.

Approximate cost for a round-turn standard lot (100,000 units), in USD. Raw+ / cTrader commission is $3.50 per lot per side ($7.00 round turn) on Raw+ and cTrader accounts. Pip values and spreads are variable — confirm live figures in your platform. Last updated 2026-06-20.

Which account is cheaper for you

Raw+ replaces a wider spread with a tighter spread plus a $7 round-turn commission, so it only pays off once the spread saving beats that commission — about 0.7 pips on a $10-per-pip major such as EUR/USD. If the Standard spread is more than roughly 0.7 pips wider than the raw spread, Raw+ is cheaper; if the gap is smaller (or you trade rarely), the Standard all-in spread can win. As a rule of thumb, frequent traders on liquid majors save with Raw+, while occasional traders often prefer Standard.

How a spread becomes a cost

The spread is the gap between the buy and sell price of a contract for difference (CFD). You pay it on entry: spread (in pips) × the pip value of one lot equals your cost. On a Standard account that spread is your whole trading cost; on Raw+ you pay a tighter raw spread plus the $7 round-turn commission. Compare the two on our Raw+ account, MT4 and MT5 pages.

Where the price list ends

Spread and commission are settled at the fill. They are taken once on the way in and once on the way out, they scale with the size of the order and with nothing else, and a position that opens and closes inside the same session never meets anything beyond them. That is the whole of what the tables on this page price.

The account behind those trades is a separate object with a separate bill. It can be charged for sitting unused, it can be charged by the institution at the other end when money arrives or leaves, and it can be adjusted for what an instrument does while a position is open. None of those depend on a pip figure, and none of them get smaller because the deal price did.

Keeping the two apart is what makes a cost estimate hold up. A per-lot figure answers what trading costs. What an account costs is that figure plus a short list of items that have nothing to do with how well you trade.

The dormant account is the one nobody prices

An account with no positions and no orders still exists, and after six months of no activity an inactivity fee applies to it. It is the only charge on this site billed for what did not happen rather than for what did, which is exactly why it survives every kind of careful planning: no entry price, no size and no instrument can make it smaller.

It also has a very different shape from a trading cost. Trading costs scale with volume, so they are large on a busy account and near zero on a quiet one. This one runs the other way round, and it lands hardest on a funded account that was opened and then left alone - the case a price list never describes.

The practical response is a calendar note rather than a calculation. A demo account is free and unlimited, so nothing forces a funded account to sit idle while a plan is still being tested.

Money in, money out, and what the far side takes

Moving money is not trading, and it is priced by different parties. FxPro covers deposit transfer fees and charges no withdrawal fee on most methods; the bank, card issuer or provider at the far end can still apply its own, and that charge never appears in any figure quoted per lot.

Two rules shape the round trip. Money returns along the route it arrived on, so the channel chosen at deposit is also the channel used for payouts. And a payout on an account that has not traded may carry a small charge from the provider - the one case where the cost of moving money depends on whether any trading happened at all.

The rest of the perimeter is close by: our swap rates page holds the overnight line, trading conditions holds what the platform will accept, and the calculators turn a size into the capital it reserves.

Frequently asked questions

What does a spread-and-commission figure actually cover?
One deal, from entry to exit. On the Standard account that is a spread of about 1.2 pips on EUR/USD with no commission; on Raw+ it is a raw spread from 0.0 pips plus $3.50 per lot per side, $7.00 round turn. Nothing billed to the account itself is inside that number.
Which charges sit outside the price list?
Four kinds: adjustments that may be applied to open positions on instruments that pay them, charges raised by a bank or provider when money moves, the inactivity fee that applies after six months of no activity, and the separate overnight line on our swap rates page.
Is anything charged when I am not trading at all?
Yes. An inactivity fee applies after six months of no activity. It is billed to the account rather than to a trade, which makes it the one item on the list that a careful trading plan does not avoid.
Does FxPro charge for paying money in or out?
No. FxPro covers deposit transfer fees and does not charge a withdrawal fee on most methods, though a bank or provider at the far end may apply its own. Withdrawals go back along the same route the deposit arrived on.
Are FxPro spreads fixed or variable?
FxPro spreads are variable and move with market liquidity. Standard accounts use all-in spreads, while raw accounts show tighter spreads from 0.0 pips plus a commission.
Does FxPro charge a commission?
Only on raw-spread accounts (Raw+ and cTrader), where the commission is $3.50 per lot per side. Standard accounts have no separate commission.
What is the typical EUR/USD spread at FxPro?
Around 1.2 pips on a Standard account and from about 0.2 pips on a raw account, though it varies with market conditions.
Does the account choice change the charges outside the price list?
No. Standard and Raw+ differ only in how the price of a deal is split between spread and commission. Adjustments, funding charges and the inactivity fee are identical on both.

Reviews

Spreads get a thumbs up on the majors and oil — traders call them competitive and reckon orders fill fast. Gold's the sore spot: a few clock it swinging 30–45 pips, way wider than they'd like. The ECN account trades tighter but the commission stings, 'on the higher side.' Fine if you stick to majors — just eyeball the metals spread before you load up.

I do prefer a raw account’ why! See spreads. Although when I started I liked the spreads in the standard account too but over time liked the idea of commission and near to zero spreads…
