Swap Comes from Instrument Terms, Not the Price List · FxPro Brazil

A swap (or rollover) is the interest debited or credited when you hold a leveraged position overnight.

The swap line is not part of the price list: it comes from the instrument's own terms. A swap is applied to a leveraged position that is still open after the daily rollover, at around 00:00 on the FxPro server, and the rate is set by the instrument and by the side you hold, with Wednesday carrying a triple charge because the weekend value dates roll with it. That is why no figure quoted per lot contains it, why the account tier does not change it, and why it is published per instrument rather than as a headline number. Eligible clients can hold a swap-free (Islamic) account, which holds no overnight swap interest. Check the exact long and short figures per instrument inside your platform before you keep a position open.

What you are debited (−) or credited (+) per standard lot held past the daily rollover, measured on FxPro’s own MT5 Raw+ feed (with the raw points in brackets). A negative number costs you to hold; a positive one pays you. Triple swap is applied on Wednesday night to cover the weekend value date. Carry / yr is the annualised swap yield (swap × 365 ÷ notional at the live price) — a rough guide to what holding the position costs or earns over a year, shown where we have a live price. What it really costs to hold a position (measured)

USD/JPY$4.55−$21.43−$121.02$26.43$131.73$535.38
XAU/USD (Gold)$89.90$497.30$2,059.00−$5.00−$167.00−$788.00

Total net cost to hold one standard lot over time — the spread plus accumulated swap. A positive figure is what it costs you; a negative one means you come out ahead (positive carry). For example, holding EUR/USD long for a month costs about $276, while a EUR/USD short earns about $48. Based on measured spreads and current swaps — rates vary.

Avoiding swaps

If you hold positions overnight regularly, a swap-free (Islamic) account may avoid swap interest for eligible clients. Check live swap rates inside your platform before holding overnight.

Which list this charge lives on

An account has a price list and an instrument has terms, and the swap line comes from the second of the two. That is not a technicality: it decides where to look it up, what changes it, and what leaves it alone. Choosing a different account tier does not move it, and trading a different size does not either, beyond scaling it with the position.

It also explains the format. A price list can be quoted as one figure per lot because everything in it is settled at the fill. Instrument terms cannot, because they are published per instrument and per side - which is exactly the shape of the measured table above.

So the two live on separate pages by design. The account's own price list is on spreads and costs; what an instrument charges is here.

The rest of an instrument's terms

Swap is the best known item in that set, but it is not the only one. On instruments that pay them, adjustments may be applied to an open position under the instrument's own terms, because a CFD tracks the underlying without conferring ownership and distributions are therefore not received directly.

The two are looked up in different places. A swap rate is visible per instrument in the platform before anything is opened. An adjustment follows the instrument's own calendar, so the terms for that specific instrument are the reference, not a general rate table.

A swap-free (Islamic) account removes the overnight interest for eligible clients. It does not rewrite the rest of an instrument's terms, and it does not touch anything billed to the account rather than to a position.

What the account is charged with nothing open

Close every position and this page stops applying: the charge needs something to attach to. Nothing else on the account stops with it, which is the part most cost plans leave out.

An account that is flat is still an account. After six months of no activity an inactivity fee applies - billed for what did not happen rather than for what did - and moving money can still meet a charge on the far side, even though FxPro covers deposit transfer fees and takes no withdrawal fee on most methods.

That is the part of the bill trading well does not reduce. The whole perimeter of what falls outside a deal price is set out on spreads and costs.

Frequently asked questions

Is the swap part of the spread or the commission?
Neither. Spread and commission are settled when a deal is filled and belong to the account's price list; the swap is set by the instrument's own terms and applied to a position that is still open past the daily rollover.
What is a swap at FxPro?
A swap is the interest charged or paid for holding a leveraged position overnight; the rate depends on the instrument and trade direction.
Why is the swap tripled on Wednesday?
Positions held over Wednesday night are usually charged triple swap to cover the weekend, when markets are closed but value dates still roll forward.
Does the Standard or Raw+ account change the swap?
No. The account tier decides how the price of a deal is split between spread and commission. Swap rates belong to the instrument and to the direction of the position, so they read the same on both.
Is FxPro swap-free?
FxPro offers swap-free (Islamic) accounts to eligible clients, which hold no overnight swap interest. Standard accounts are charged normal swap rates.
What else can arrive from an instrument's own terms?
Adjustments may be applied to open positions on instruments that pay them: a CFD tracks the underlying without giving ownership of it, so distributions are not received directly. The terms differ per instrument, so read them for the instrument you hold.
Where can I see the current FxPro swap rates?
Live swap rates are shown per instrument inside your FxPro platform; check them before keeping a position open, as they change with market rates.
Does anything reach the account when no position is open?
No swap does, because the charge needs a position to attach to. The account still has obligations of its own: an inactivity fee applies after six months of no activity, and a bank or provider at the far end may charge for moving money.

What traders report

Two voices, and no more than two: swaps barely come up in reviews at all, so read what follows as anecdote rather than evidence. A trader holding short GBP/USD and EUR/USD since November says the overnight charge stayed low enough to keep the positions open, and a swing trader reports being on a swap-free Islamic account where no swap interest applied to him. For anything firmer than that, the rates measured above are the better source.

★★★★★
FxPro doesn't charge high swap commissions. I've been holding short positions on gbpusd and eurusd since november.

I'm a swing trader, so for me the spreads is just nice and acceptable with 0 commission, they offer Islamic swap free.
